JOB OVERVIEW:

The Manager – Agri & Biomass will be responsible for managing and expanding the company’s agricultural commodities and biomass business, including sourcing, procurement, sales coordination, supplier development, and market intelligence. The role requires strong market knowledge, extensive field exposure, and the ability to develop reliable supplier and client networks while ensuring smooth execution of business operations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

o Develop and execute business plans for agricultural commodities and biomass in line with company objectives.

o Manage sourcing, procurement, and trading activities for agricultural commodities, grains, and biomass products.

o Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, farmers, traders, mills, and business clients.

o Conduct regular market visits to monitor commodity prices, demand, supply, crop trends, and market developments.

o Identify new sourcing regions, suppliers, clients, and business opportunities across assigned markets.

o Negotiate prices, commercial terms, supply arrangements, and contracts with suppliers and clients.

o Coordinate with Sales, Procurement, Operations, Quality, Finance, and Logistics teams for smooth execution of transactions.

o Monitor ongoing deals, procurement volumes, deliveries, quality requirements, payments, and other operational activities.

o Develop and maintain market intelligence regarding commodity pricing, crop availability, competitor activities, and supply-demand trends.

o Lead and supervise the Agri & Biomass team and ensure achievement of departmental targets and KPIs.

o Prepare periodic business performance reports, procurement plans, market updates, forecasts, and management presentations.

o Ensure compliance with company policies, quality standards, approved commercial terms, and operational procedures.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATION:

Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in Agriculture, Agri Economics, Agribusiness, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related field.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

8–10 years of relevant experience in agricultural commodities, biomass, procurement, trading, sales, or supply chain, preferably with strong exposure to grains, agri commodities, and biomass markets.

MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS:

• Strong knowledge of local agricultural commodity, grain, and biomass markets.

• Proven experience in sourcing, procurement, trading, and supplier development.

• Strong network within agricultural markets, suppliers, traders, farmers, and industry stakeholders.

• Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship-management skills.

• Strong leadership and team-management capabilities.

• Ability to analyze commodity prices, demand, supply, and market trends.

• Willingness to travel extensively to agricultural markets and supplier/client locations.

• Strong follow-up, coordination, analytical, and reporting skills.

• Proficiency in MS Excel and other reporting tools.

• Valid driving license and willingness to travel will be preferred.
