Key Responsibilities

·       Inspect and select paddy at supplier, collection, receiving, and warehouse points.

·       Assess paddy quality based on variety, grain appearance, moisture, foreign matter, damaged or immature grains, discoloration, infestation, odour, and other approved quality criteria.

·       Classify paddy lots according to approved specifications and identify material requiring re-checking, segregation, or rejection.

·       Ensure selected, rejected, hold, and mixed-variety paddy lots are properly identified and segregated.

·       Support proper tagging, lot coding, sample retention, and traceability of paddy lots.

·       Identify and report varietal mixing, excessive moisture, infestation, contamination, adulteration, or other quality concerns.

·       Coordinate with Procurement and Warehouse teams and provide timely quality feedback before acceptance, unloading, storage, or dispatch.

·       Assist in resolving supplier quality differences through re-sampling and documented comparison.

·       Monitor stored paddy for moisture, heating, pest activity, deterioration, and mixing.

·       Maintain daily selection records and lot-wise quality observations.

·       Maintain reference samples and ensure basic inspection equipment remains clean and serviceable.

·       Follow applicable safety, hygiene, housekeeping, confidentiality, and company requirements.

 

Required Qualifications

·       Intermediate, Bachelor’s degree, or diploma in Agriculture, Food Science, or a related field ; relevant practical experience may also be considered.

·       Minimum 2+ years of relevant experience in paddy/rice selection, grain inspection, procurement support, or warehouse quality.

·       Ability to identify paddy varieties and visible quality defects.

·       Ability to use moisture meters, scales, sieves, and basic sampling tools.

·       Strong observation skills and ability to make consistent quality judgments.

·       Good record-keeping discipline and integrity.

·       Willingness to work at supplier sites, procurement points, warehouses, and field locations as required.
