Kissan Card Punjab: How to Apply, Loan Limit and Key Details
Kissan Card Punjab explained: who can apply, loan limit, how to apply by SMS 8070, activation and repayment, with sources and dates.

The Kissan Card is a Punjab government card that gives eligible farmers an interest-free seasonal loan for seed, fertilizer, pesticides, and diesel.
The Punjab Agriculture Department runs the scheme, and the Bank of Punjab issues the card, which the bank’s own documents also call the Kissan Credit Card (KCC). You apply with an SMS to 8070, and there is no fee to apply.
Rules and loan limits have changed since the card launched in 2024, and many websites still show old numbers. This guide sticks to what official pages say, puts a date on each figure, and tells you where we couldn’t confirm something.
Zarea is not part of the Kissan Card scheme and can’t register you for it. Before you act on anything that affects your money, confirm it with the Agriculture helpline on 0800-17000.
Key Details & Limits
This is what the official sources say. Where the figures differ between phases, both are shown.

What the Limit Means in Rupees
The numbers below are our own calculations, not from an official calculator. They use Rs 30,000 per acre and the 30/20/50 split from the Agriculture Department. The bank sets your actual limit.

The 12-acre row applies only if the Rs 360,000 Phase 2 cap is in force. Under the 2025 guidance, the cap is Rs 300,000.
Who Can Get the Card
You own 1 to 25 acres of agricultural land in Punjab, and your land record is updated with the Punjab Land Record Authority (PLRA).
You hold a valid CNIC. If it has expired, renew it before you apply.
Your mobile SIM is registered in your own name.
You pass the bank’s credit history check. BOP’s terms list this as a condition.
What You Can Buy With the Kissan Card
Only registered sellers can take the card. Seed, fertilizer, and pesticides have to come from registered dealers, and the diesel share works only at registered PSO pumps. The Agriculture Department publishes district-wise lists of both on its Kissan Card page, so check that your dealer is on the list before you plan a purchase.
Dealer prices are what count when you pay by card, but it helps to know the market rate first. The fertilizer category provides a bulk-price reference for urea, DAP, and other fertilizers. It is separate from the card scheme.
The cash share, 30% of your limit, is for general farm costs such as labour and irrigation.
How to Apply for the Kissan Card
There is one official way to apply for the Kissan Card: an SMS. You don’t need the internet or an app.
Use the right phone. Open the SMS app on the phone with the SIM registered on your own CNIC.
Type PKC, a space, then your 13-digit CNIC with no dashes. For example: PKC 1234567890123. That number is only a sample, so use your own.
Send it to 8070. You should get a confirmation message once your application is submitted. Keep it.
Kissan Card Online Apply: Is There an Online Form?
We found no official online application form. An independent guide that reviewed the official sources in September 2026 also found none, and no official notice of a new registration window.
Websites that ask for your CNIC so they can “register” you online are not the government. Before you send the SMS, call 0800-17000 and ask whether applications are open in your district.
Kissan Card Application: What Happens Next
After the SMS, your application goes through checks. The Agriculture Department describes them like this:
PLRA verifies your land record, and NADRA verifies your CNIC details.
You get an SMS or a call when your card is ready.
You collect the card from your nearest Assistant Director (Extension) Agriculture office.
You complete biometric verification with bank staff at collection.
Most failed applications trip on one of four things: the wrong SMS format, a SIM that isn’t in your name, a land record that PLRA hasn’t updated, or an expired CNIC. Fix those first.
How to Activate and Use Your Kissan Card
After you collect the card, call the Bank of Punjab Government Initiatives Helpline on 042-111-333-267 from the mobile number registered in your name. The bank will ask for your CNIC, name, date of birth, mother’s name, birth district, and the 16-digit number on the card. Share these only on a call you make yourself to that number, and never give anyone your PIN or an OTP.
For a lost card, a forgotten PIN, a blocked card, or any activation trouble, visit the Kissan Card help desk at your nearest Assistant Director (Extension) Agriculture office. Plan your purchases early in the sowing window, and if you want to compare seed prices first, the seed category on Zarea is one place to look.
Repayment and the Next Season
You have up to six months to repay, and repaying on time is what lets you apply again for the next season, according to the Agriculture Department. The department’s 2026 notices, as reported by an independent guide, allow repayment at any Bank of Punjab branch, by interbank transfer or through Raast ID.
The same guide cites APP reporting that the next loan reaches your card within 24 hours once your dues are cleared.
Repayment follows harvest, so keep an eye on the price of what you grow. Zarea’s daily price page tracks commodity prices and is worth checking before you decide when to sell.
The Kissan Card is designed for eligible farmers' seasonal agricultural expenses, but it is not a general business financing option. Farmers who also operate agricultural trading or other businesses can read our guide to short-term business loan options to understand how short-term financing works, what lenders may require, and how repayment terms differ.
Other Benefits Linked to the Kissan Card
The card does more than carry the loan. Some Punjab farm schemes pay out through it too. The Agriculture Department’s July 2025 guidance mentions Rs 5,000 an acre for wheat growers in 2024-25, the Green Tractor Scheme, and support for high-tech farm implements.
That wheat payment was for one season, and the tractor scheme opens in rounds. Before you count on any of these, call 0800-17000 and ask what’s open right now.
If you’re thinking about a tractor or other equipment, read agricultural machinery in Pakistan first. It covers the main machine types, published prices with dates, and what to weigh before you spend.
It also lists support for solar tubewells. If irrigation costs are your problem, the solar category is a starting point for comparing equipment.
Stay Safe When You Apply
The Agriculture Department says there is no processing fee to apply. Nobody can speed up your approval for money.
Don’t pay an agent to “release” your loan or check your status.
Never share your PIN, an OTP, or your card number with someone who calls or messages you.
Treat private “Kissan Card portals” with caution. Many look official, and their figures often conflict with the department’s. Always compare with the official pages listed at the end.
BOP’s launch terms listed a card issuance fee of Rs 1,000 per acre. Ask the bank whether any fee applies to your card.
Frequently Asked Questions
How to check Kisan card status online by CNIC?
Right now you can’t. As of September 2026, we couldn’t find any official page or SMS where you type your CNIC and see your status. The 8070 number is for applying only. Websites with a “check by CNIC” box aren’t official, so don’t put your CNIC on them.
Keep the SMS you got when you applied and wait for the message or call saying your card is ready. Can’t wait? Call 0800-17000, or ask at the help desk in your nearest Assistant Director (Extension) Agriculture office. Once you have the card, Bank of Punjab can help with it and your balance at 042-111-333-267.
How can I check my Kisan Card 2026 application status online?
There’s no status page to check. After you send PKC and your CNIC to 8070, you get a confirmation SMS. Then PLRA looks at your land record and NADRA checks your CNIC. When the card is ready, you’ll get an SMS or a call, and you pick it up from your nearest Assistant Director (Extension) Agriculture office.
Heard nothing for weeks? First, make sure you sent the right format from a SIM in your own name, and that your land record is up to date. Then call 0800-17000 or go to the help desk.
How to activate Kisan card?
Call the Bank of Punjab on 042-111-333-267 from the mobile number registered in your name after you collect the card. The bank will ask for your CNIC, name, date of birth, mother’s name, birth district, and the 16-digit card number. If activation fails, the help desk at your nearest Assistant Director (Extension) Agriculture office can help.
How to download KCC loan statement?
KCC stands for Kissan Credit Card, the name the Bank of Punjab uses in its documents for the Punjab Kissan Card. We found no official page that offers a downloadable Kissan Card loan statement.
The Bank of Punjab holds the loan and balance, so ask the bank: call 042-111-333-267, or visit a branch with your card and CNIC and request a statement. The bank’s digiBOP app shows account statements and card controls for BOP accounts, but we couldn’t confirm that a Kissan Card loan appears there, so check with the bank first.
Wrap-Up
Applying for the Kissan Card is easy once your land record, CNIC, and SIM all match. Send PKC and your CNIC to 8070, wait for the message saying your card is ready, pick it up from the agriculture office, and activate it with the Bank of Punjab.
The loan limit has changed from one phase to the next, so ask 0800-17000 what yours is before you buy anything. Don’t pay anyone to rush your application, and keep every SMS and receipt until the loan is cleared.
